Summary of Plan Commission/ARB Meetings - Feb 18 & Mar 2
The Plan Commission/ARB reviewed the proposed Recreation Complex in Shaw Park and the Forsyth Pointe office building projects again at their February 18th meeting.
For the Rec Complex once again the board members were critical of the size and design of the open air roof that will be above the ice rink. Some members thought the current roof design might resemble a “QT” gas station roof. They requested further review of the roof design by unanimous vote.
Representatives of the developers for the Forsyth Pointe office build project returned to present their updated design of the two office towers connected by a parking structure along Forsyth between Brentwood and Meramec. Changes such as building setback and overhang were made to diminish the appearance of a narrow corridor along Brentwood and Meramec. The Board liked these changes, but some of the members were still concerned about the façade of the parking structure and requested further review. Other parts of the projects were approved by unanimous vote.
The developers for the Forsyth Pointe office complex appeared again at the March 2nd meeting to review the design of the façade of the parking structure along Forsyth and other minor details of the building design. After a limited presentation and discussion, the Board unanimously approved the design of the buildings and parking structure. Demolition of the construction site has begun.
